Scholarship Contest Winners Announced!
We’ve recently completed our 2013-2014 We The Students Scholarship Contest and are excited to share the results. The contest ran from September to December 2013 and we received over 1,500 entries from students across the country.
Many of the entries we received were of high quality, and it was a difficult job for our judges to award only five prizes. Please join us in congratulating the outstanding students who were awarded prizes this year!
1st Place: Janek Benigno
Janek is a senior at Seton Catholic in Chandler, Arizona. In addition to earning his varsity letter in Golf, he has participated in Boys State, Student Government and drama. He was named “Student of the Month” by his school in August 2013, and is a member of the National Honor Society.
2nd Place: Joshua Wilkerson
Joshua is a senior at Northwest Pennsylvania Collegiate Academy in Erie, Pennsylvania. He is an Eagle Scout and a member of the National Honor Society. After participating in the contest, Joshua said he, “gained a deeper understanding of the Constitution through analyzing it and writing about some of its principles.”
3rd Place: Hwasung Yoo

He says, “I once believed that the common citizen does not possess the ability to enact change. After considering a question in the contest, I can happily conclude that I was wrong.”
